Check-In Baggage Fees of Airlines: Cebu Pacific Air, PAL & PAL Express, Air Asia, Skyjet

November 9, 2016

Shared in this post are the checked baggage fees of the airlines operating in the domestic travel in the Philippines: Cebu Pacific and CebGo, Philippine Airlines and PAL Express, Air Asia Philippines and Skyjet Airlines.

Awareness of the different airlines checked baggage fees at the time of booking and in the airport check-in counters before the flight may help our Piso Fare readers save on checked baggage fees.

THE PREPAID BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE

PREPAID BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE is now offered by the different airline companies in the Philippines. In the Prepaid Baggage Scheme, travelers have the option to buy checked baggage allowance in advance, most of the time during ticket booking.

Except for Skyjet Airlines where regular or promo ticket holders are entitled only for free hand-carry bag of 5 kilos, passengers on other airlines can bring up to 7 kilos cabin baggage regardless if they purchase promo fare or regular tickets.

However, when you are traveling 7 kilos is not enough for all the stuff you will be bringing. So, the rest of your baggage should be check-in during the flight.

The Prepaid Baggage can be purchased during booking for your flights or at least 4 hours prior to your flight.

PREPAID BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE: ADVANTAGE

Prepaid Baggage Allowance can now be availed by customers for their checked baggage from the airlines in the Philippines. The Prepaid Baggage Allowance means you have to pay your checked baggage fees during booking or up to 4 hours before your check-in at the airport for your flights.

The advantage of pre-booking your baggage is that the rates are lower compared to baggage charges at the airport. This move is to encourage guests to purchase baggage packages in advance.

Purchase of Prepaid Baggage can be done on the “Purchase Add-on” section during booking. In some airlines, this can be done up to 4 hours before flight departure by going online at the “Manage my Booking” or “Modify” section.

Availing of the prepaid baggage option means savings especially if you will be bringing several bags of heavy luggage.

If you cannot buy in advance the checked baggage allowance, you can pay the baggage fee at the airport check-in counter before your flight.
